Version 2.4's piece de resistance (and undoubtedly what's kept it so long in the cooker) is the Isle of Quel'Danas. It's arguably the biggest piece of content introduced via a single update in WoW's history, and the culmination of how Blizzard's design approach has evolved since the game's launch.

Star Wars MMO will be bigger than WoW

You may have missed this opportunity to know this story last week (we wouldn't blame you if you were busy fighting off the living dead), but there was a big announcement in the world of MMO games. BioWare, makers of Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate, and last year's terrific Mass Effect, announced in conjunction with EA and LucasArts that they were going to make their first MMO, set in the same universe as their critically acclaimed Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic game. Massively's got tons of news about it if you're interested (and even though we won't see it for years and years, I definitely am).

Shadows of Justice

WoW Orgrim Doomhammer's first act as warchief of the WoW Horde was to crush the WoW orc warlocks of the Shadow Council. He grudgingly spared the council's former master, WoW Gul'dan, in WoW exchange for the warlock's servitude; in turn Gul'dan promised to create a host of powerful new warriors to serve the WoW Horde. After expe-rimenting at length with the souls of the recently slain council members, WoW Gul'dan successfully instilled the spirit of the necrolyte Teron Gorefiend into the corpse of a fallen knight of Stormwind. Thus, the first terrifying WoW death knight was born. Gul'dan trans-formed other council members as well, creating unholy warriors who sowed chaos and fear throughout the land of Azeroth during the Second War.

how to play world of warcraft with a PlayStation 3 controller

We all know Blizzard hasn't exactly been a fan of consoles and that our favorite game isn't likely to arrive in console form anytime soon, but reader Spazzer showed us how he plays World of Warcraft with a PlayStation 3 controller. Spazzer attached his PS3 controller to his MacBook Pro and hooked up his laptop to the TV, which he says is "effectively the same as playing on a PS3." So it's not exactly playing on a PS3 but it also sorta kinda is.
